The following items can’t be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can’t accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products
  • Items on sale
Conditions of return
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

Custom and personalized orders

Gift wrapping and packaging

Our candles come wrapped in gold patterned tissue paper. If you would like to request different, additional, or even personalized packaging, I can easily accommodate. Message or email me at info@adlercandles.com.

Shipping:

When possible, in order to conserve and be more eco-conscious, your shipment might be sent to you in re-purposed packaging (boxes, mailers, peanuts, paper, etc…). In the event where shipping an item is cheaper for the buyer, we will use brand new packaging. If you would like to request or ask for specifics, please message me before your order or in the comments of your order.

In the case of damaged orders, pictures are required of the box(es) the item(s) were shipped in (on doorstep if possible), the items condition inside the shipped box without removal of packaging or item (when possible), and of the damaged item(s) in order to receive a partial refund, total refund, or replacement.

USPS requires the above “evidence” to issue the buyer or seller monetary compensation in the event the cause of damage is inflicted by them. To their discretion, the buyer may have to file the complaint to USPS and not the seller. If this becomes the case, the seller will assist as much as possible without requesting sensitive information from the buyer. Please refer to USPS.com for further information or their refund policies.

If the buyer requests a refund, cancels the order after the order has already shipped, and/or returns the item to the seller in resell-able condition, buyer can request for a refund of the products returned in said condition, but not for shipping costs. This holds true even if the product was shipped free for the buyer. The buyer will not be refunded the dollar amount seller paid to ship the “free shipping” order. Buyer is responsible for shipping to return product(s).

Promo Codes/Coupons:

I will occasionally offer discounts on selected products in my store by using Etsy’s promo code/coupon function. Certain conditions apply to obtain and/or use these discounts. Discounts are subjected to my discretion which may change at any time. I will not accept discounts if an order is canceled in the attempt to use a code received after placing said order.

Information I Collect:

To fulfill your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorized Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order of jewelry, for example), if you contact me directly.

Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It:

I rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
-as needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfill your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
-when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for my mailing list;
-if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law;
-and as necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as 1) providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and 2) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.

ADLER CANDLES WILL NEVER REQUEST YOU FOR ADDITIONAL PERSONAL INFORMATION UNLESS NEEDED TO COMPLETE AN INITIATED REQUEST BY THE BUYER.

Information Sharing and Disclosure:

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
-Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
-Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
-Business transfers. If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
-Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

Data Retention:

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.
